Do you think you may have sleep apnoea?
Sleep apnoea is when your breathing stops and starts while you sleep. The most common form of sleep apnoea is called obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). The main indicators of obstructive sleep apnoea at night are if you stop and start breathing whilst sleeping, you make gasping, snorting or choking noises, you wake up a lot, and/ or you snore loudly.
During the day, a key indicator is excessive daytime tiredness. If you feel very tired, find it hard to concentrate, have mood swings and/or have a headache when you wake up, you may be suffering from excessive daytime tiredness. If you feel you may be suffering from sleep apnoea, contact your GP to seek advice on your next steps. We also offer a free online sleep test which may help determine if you suffer from excessive daytime sleepiness.
